John Corbett is an artist who reexamines gestural painting by eliminating any material trace of the painterly process to force sole focus on the gesture itself. Manually created with industrial coating techniques, his work evinces an utterly flat surface that paradoxically opens a new pictorial portal to investigate color, form and space.
